A Mom Has to Brag, Right?! :)

Tucked inside a Thank You card from one of Abby's assistant teachers was the following note to us (thankfully, I grabbed it and unfolded it because I was about to toss it, thinking it was just a piece of scrap paper from arts and crafts):

It is a joy to have Abby in our class. She is very polite and listens well. Her sweet disposition has touched my heart. She is very bright, and takes her time to do a wonderful job with all of her work. She seems to really enjoy school and all of the friends she has made. Her work is super. It is such a joy to see her learning and progress so well with her work and projects. You can be very proud!

Well, our work here is done! ;) haha! Just kidding, but what a heart melter and a pat on the back to hear that our child is sweet, polite, listens, she's bright, she's a hard worker...what more could we ask for!? Nothing! :) Great job, Abby!! We could not be more proud!!

Snippets of life in our house...

The girls are very into make-overs these days, so I get one just about every day. I think they might be trying to tell me something! ha!

Gingerbread house. We make one every year, and this year they were really into it.

Liv had to have a little taste test! She is something else, this one. I love the look on Abby's face...'typical Liv!' ha!
They did really good, actually...the finished product!
Sweetest. Picture. Ever. Liv LOVES her babies and takes caring for them very seriously. She was sitting there so sweetly rocking this baby!
Tea Party!!!! :) I know Scott has always longed to drink imaginary tea from a cup the size of his thumb print! haha! What a good Daddy!

Glamour Girl Party!

What's a girl to do when she turns 5!?...Grab your 9 bestest friends, your sister and head out for a day of dress up and pampering, of course! haha!

There is a little boutique in town that offers Glamour Girls parties (And, the gym where I teach a few tumbling classes is actually attached to the boutique and the same people own all of it), so I booked Abby's party there just as soon as I found out about it.

First they take all of the girls and let them pick out whatever dress up clothes they want and they have EVERYTHING!! Next, they are whisked off to hair, make-up and nails! :)

Awful pic of me, but GORGEOUS of Abby and her big girl hair-do!

Mass chaos!! haha! They also have crafts for the girls to do while they are waiting, bracelet making, etc...

More dress up with sweet little Mira!

And, don't forget karaoke and dancing! They have a disco ball and everything. It was hysterical. And, sooo funny...Ella, this sweet little girl that Abby goes to school with, was singing first and she was singing all these darling goodnight songs and then Ava, another friend of school, grabs the microphone and all of a sudden we hear...'Iiiiiii, wanna rock and roll all night....and party everyday!' hahaha! We were CRACKING up! (note to self, don't let Abby hang with Ava when they are teenagers...haha...kidding! :)

Hair, make-up and dress-up all complete! :)

Maribelle, one of her BFF's, turned 5 just a couple of days before Abby, so we sang to both of them! :) Happy Birthday, girls!

Snacks with the girls!

The whole party gang! Aren't the so stinkin' cute!? We loved every bit of the party, and everyone had so much fun...and, we didn't have to do any of the clean up! ha!

The big 5!!! :(

Well, I can't believe it, but Abby has been 5 for over a month now! She is such a big girl now! :( While I look forward to all of the things to come and all of the things I will get to do with her, I can't help but think about how old five sounds compared to 3 or 4! She was very excited about her birthday this year.

*Her door all decorated for her to run through when she woke up!

Everything ready to celebrate!

Her birthday was on a Friday, so she wasn't at school and Scott had to work so we did just a few small gifts that morning so that she didn't have to wait all day!

She hosted a party for all of her toys! She's very thoughtful and creative, that's for sure! :)

Once Scott got home we had our real celebration and she picked dinner at a mexican restaurant here in town...that's my girl! :) (on a side note, this photo says it all, just look @ Olivia's face...she was none to thrilled with the fact that she had no presents!-ha!)

She got some great birthday goodies, but this digital camera and recorder was her big gift! She can make her own movies and everything. And, notice the lipsick-haha!, she got a huge make-up kit, too! And, the Barbie and Ken from Toy Story, clothes and games, etc.

Her Birthday hat from her party @ school! And, you know she won't eat cake, so blowing out her cookies! ha!

The next day Mom and Dad came in town for her birthday and her party (which was the following day and will be the next blog entry-ha!). More Barbie goodies! :)

And, quite possibly my favorite picture ever! What a heart melter! I think I can safely say that Dad would have never let ME paint his nails, but Olivia can pretty much do whatever she wants...in Dad's opinion anyways! :) Lookin' good, Dad! And, he forgot about it and wore the polish to the ballgame that night! haha!

Happy Birthday, Abby!! You are loved and adored by so many people! I know I have said it 1 million times, but you are truly the other side of me! (It is scary how similar we are in so many ways.) You are an old soul and have been since day 1. You're wise beyond your years, very thoughtful and concerned about others, quite serious at times, yet a total goof ball at other times. You are intelligent (and I am not just saying that because you are mine-ha!), you love to learn, you love to read (you get mad when you can't read chapter books by yourself, but it doesn't stop you from trying and going through the book finding and reading all the words you can), you are are excellent big sister and I have a feeling Olivia will look up to and admire you always. You want to be a doctor, and have said that since you were 3. You are very hard on yourself (a trait I wish you had not gotten from me) but, it sure does make you determined and driven. Your favorite color is purple, favorite movies are Wizard of Oz (still :), Toy Story 3 and anything Christmas. You really don't watch many TV shows, so I have no idea what or if you even have a favorite. If I asked you, you would spout off some generic answer! ha! You are still so small. About 36-38lbs now, and the same height as most of the 3 and 4yr olds in your class-ha!, but we can't dare say that to you. Speaking of the little kids in your class, you could do without them, too...haha! Recently, you have expressed that you are bored in school and ready for Kindergarten, and that you get annoyed by the littler kids @ school. Which just reaffirms our thining that you will LOVE Kindergarten and that you are more than ready for it. We hope so anyways. You crack us all up and you are so much fun...I would choose to hang out with you over any adult, any day! :)

'Work!'

I know I mentioned it before, but back in August I left World Class to coach the cheerleaders at Carlyle high school. Great decision! :) I loved coaching @ World Class, and doing the all-star thing was fun for a while and I learned alot and met a lot of great people, but I missed real cheerleading, being in the school, games in the gym, etc. So, in late October, I had try-outs for my new squads. We have 22 girls between the Varstiy and JV (one of the largest groups the school has ever had), and I coach both squads. It's time consuming and a lot of work, but I really love it. The girls are great, they work so hard for me, and we are aiming for a bid to state finals (which would be a first in the school's history) on Jan. 29th! Carlyle is a small school (smaller than North Harrison even-ha!), so to have this many girls to work with and this much talent has really been a lot of fun for me. And, we get lots of support from the school (which is TOALLY weird to me since we didn't always get a lot of support...then again the supers daughter and the prinicipals daughter cheers, but hey...we will take it however we can get it!-ha!) And, for those of you that cheered with me in high school...we actually get floor time...EVERYDAY!! Also a first for the school, but with so many girls and our goal of really growing the program, they are willing to work us into the gym rotation with the basketball teams! I chuckle a little everytime the boys have to leave the floor when it's time for our practice! haha! But, the whole school and community have been so great...makes me wish my girls would be going to this school and also has made me really think about going back to get my teaching certificate. I just got my substitute certification, so I am excited about possibly subbing for a few classes here and there, if (or when) I ever can.

Anyways, just some fun pics of the girls @ practices and games!
FIVE base groups...I am so spoiled! haha!

Our Christmas party and gift exchange! :)

Varsity before one of our home games! Oh, to be so young and care free again! ha!
(MELISSA--note the girl on the bottom row, second from the right...that's Nicole...your teenage mini-me! haha!...seriously, she is so you! :)

And, I love the I can take my girls along to any practice, game, etc. At first Abby said the girls gave her a headache-haha!, but now she loves it, and Liv is ALL ABOUT IT! She cries to go to games with me! ha! They get down on the floor and dance and cheer with them, Abby tumbles. :) Makes it nice that since it does take a lot of my time in the evenings, at least they can tag along.

About Me

Welcome to our life! :) Our life seems to be a constant 3 ring circus these days, but we have a lot of fun, laugh a lot and enjoy every minute of it (okay...almost every minute-haha!) Scott and I have been married for almost 9 years, and we are the parents of 2 amazing daughters, and another little one on the way. This blog is a way to keep in touch with family and friends. It also serves as a 'year book' of sorts for our family. Enjoy!!
