Good ol' Murray, KY!

Last weekend we took a long weekend and headed to Paducah and Murray. Scott and I hadn't been to Murray in over 5 years, which is INSANE as we both LOVE the place. I went back to help with my sorority recruitment, and some other old school Sigma's came in town also. It was so fun, yet strange, being back. You just assume that time will freeze when you leave a place, yet it doesn't...it marches right on! :)

**The advisor all of my active years as a Tri Sigma at Murray was Ms. Jan. She was an amazing woman, and unfortunately she passed away a few years ago. She was a huge philanthropist and gave lots of her time and money to both Sigma and Murray State. This foutain was placed in front of the sorority house and there is also a beautiful memorial in Waterfield Library but we never made it over there while the library was open to get a picture...we were too busy counting votes...and gossiping! ha! :)

We were able to take the girls to see some places on campus, mainly the Curris Center because it was so darn hot and it was move in day, so it was a busy day on campus (and, it made us miss Murray more than ever!)

Now, don't get me wrong, the house was nice when we lived there...my years in the sorority house were more fun than you could even imagine, but a flat screen and a piano...COME ON!? These girls are so spoiled now! haha!

With alumni from my active days! Oh, how I miss you girls so much! :(
And, how fun...I got to meet my great-grand lil. And, she's amazing
And, Holly's car died in the parking lot when she took me back to get my car. It was raining, we were in dress clothes and we could NOT stop laughing. Thankfully, a kind couple came over and helped us before we had to take matters into our own hands! ha!
Her car started! YAY!!
The Tri Sigmas are still going strong, for any of you sisters that are reading this. We made quota plus three! That's how we roll! ha!

Helpers!

The girls just LOVE their cousin, and they are such big helpers! ;)

Will just watches everything they do. Its so sweet! A little pat-a-cake!! He loves his Auntie and cousins! :)

Abby's own place...

well, it happened....Abby decided to go ahead and move into her own place! She set up her own apartment in the foyer! haha! Mind you, she did this 100% on her own. I didn't help move a single thing and it was all her idea! She managed to get all the necessary items: kitchen, you can't see it but her vanity is in there, so she has a bathroom, sitting room, toys, etc. And, I love how annoyed she is that I thought it was hysterical and kept taking pictures of her! ha!

And, her free loading little sister! haha! Wonder if this is a sign of what's to come...ha!

And, then when I starting thinking that in just 13 short years she really will be going away to college and living on her own, I teared up like the emotional mess that I am! ha!

Hottest Day of the Summer!

Well, today was the hottest day of the summer, or so they said. There is a rec center about 20min. from here with an awesome indoor swimming park. It's perfect for the little ones and they even have a special kids only time on Tuesday and Friday mornings. I decided I would take the girls this morning. We talked about it all day yesterday, Abby was so excited, you know the drill with the little ones and fun activities. We got there early and decided to head to the park to kill some time before they opened.

She looks like such a big girl here, I had to get a picture! :)

There's an abnormally tall for a play ground tube slide at this park. We decided to all go down together...Abby was screaming the entire time, 'we are going to get stuck!' haha! We didn't!!

We headed over to the rec center, unloaded all of our swimming crap, walked in the front door, and....Sorry, pool closed Aug. 2-Aug. 22 for maintenace! WHAT!? :( Perhaps that little tidbit should be added to their website, but I'm not one to cause a fuss or get angry over something I can't control, so I take my kids, one that's holding back tears and the other screaming, 'BIG POOL!,' back outside to come up with a plan B! Well, we are almost 40min. away from it, but I know the pool we love opens at 11am, and all the others don't open until 1pm and I have to leave for work @ 4pm, so I need a pool....NOW!!! So, we hop in the car and high tail it to Mascoutah....

and, had a BLAST!!! :)

I only got pics of them playing in the kiddie area (which is so awesome), but we actually spent all of our time in the deep end with all the pre-teens and wild kids. haha! They wanted to SWIM and JUMP! So, they swam and jumped until their little legs almost fell off. Liv took an almost 3hr. nap and was still in bed by 7:45pm, and Abby actually asked Scott to put her to bed! I can only think of maybe 2 other times in her life that she has ever wanted to sleep! haha!

Library fun!

I know I have talked about it a few times on here before, but we really do love our library. The girls could spend hours here. I need to take them to the New Albany library one day when we are home visiting Mom and Dad....they would FLIP OUT!!

Living dolls!

Too sweet..... :) Be still my heart!!

Loves it....

The shy, mysterious look, peek-a-boo pose! haha!

Have I mentioned before how much I LOVE having 2 little girls?! haha! It's a sea of dress-up clothes, baby dolls, barbie dolls, sparkle and glitter! :)....and, then 30sec. later they are wrestling one another like 2 teenage boys! haha!

Gone fishin'

We love that there is a lake in our neighborhood. So fun to take the girls fishing when ever we want! The best time to go is after dinner...the min. you cast, you get a fish. Super fun for the girls.

Digging our own bait! :) The girls LOVE worms. They will get them out and let them crawl all over their arms....so gross! ha!

These next 2 pics crack me up....

She has to do it all herself...no one can help her carry anything.

The fake worm that accompanies us on all of our fishing trips!

I love that the simpliest little activites we do will, no doubt, be what the girls remember most...I can only hope that one day they will be able to load up their kiddos in a wagon and go fishing after dinner whenever they want! :)

Yipee...and new lens!

I know you all will find this hard to believe, since my children are so calm and my house is not a bit chaotic, but we have managed to break BOTH of my nice lenses for my Nikon!! :( It was going to cost a fortune to have them repaired so we just ordered a new one. It arrived!!! YAY!!

Testing it out on the most beautiful models....

This cracks me up...this pose was 100% her idea. She LOVES her babies! SO darn sweet, I can't hardly stand it!

The nightly gathering of veggies from the garden! :)

This action shot of Abby was just too funny! What an animal!

The bathing beauty....

and, the beautiful beast!...This face says it all! haha!

About Me

Welcome to our life! :) Our life seems to be a constant 3 ring circus these days, but we have a lot of fun, laugh a lot and enjoy every minute of it (okay...almost every minute-haha!) Scott and I have been married for almost 9 years, and we are the parents of 2 amazing daughters, and another little one on the way. This blog is a way to keep in touch with family and friends. It also serves as a 'year book' of sorts for our family. Enjoy!!
